How are creators paid?
Per 1,000 views (CPM), a fixed amount per post, or both, within the rules your campaign sets, and never more than you funded.
Your campaign pays creators in one of three ways:
- Per views (CPM): a rate for every full 1,000 views, set for each platform, so you pay for the reach you actually get.
- Per post: a fixed amount for every post that reaches your minimum views, to get more posts out.
- Per post + CPM: a fixed amount per post to drive volume, plus CPM on the views each post gets.
Payout rules
- Minimum views before a post earns, and a maximum payout per post.
- A minimum engagement rate, so posts below it earn nothing.
- Reduced CPM, if you want it: a lower rate for posts below the minimum views, or for views mostly from outside your main target countries. A post that later reaches the minimum views has the views it was paid less for topped up to the full rate; one that never reaches it keeps the lower rate.
- Combining posts, on CPM: let creators combine 2 or more of their approved posts, up to 3 or 5, to reach the minimum views together. Each post is still paid only on its own views.
- Instagram carousels: a carousel rate, or a campaign that takes carousels only. Instagram shows a carousel's views only to its creator, so they claim with their Insights views and a reviewer confirms them.
Pricing by country
On CPM, a campaign can set its own rate for each country you target. Each claim is split by where its views came from, read from the creator's analytics recording, and each country's share is paid at that country's rate. Views from any other country are paid the campaign's main rate. Each priced country can also have:
- A view cap per post, so one post never earns more for that country than its rate times the cap.
- Its own budget. A country whose budget runs out stops being paid, while the others carry on.
- Its own end date. Its views are paid only up to that date, however late they are claimed.
Changing how a live campaign pays
Until a creator has earned, how the campaign pays can be changed freely. After that, ask our team: creators keep what they already earned, and views after the change are paid the new way.
You are never charged more than the budget you funded.
